An inspection can be added to many different types of records in Permit Manager. These include the following:

  • Property

  • Permit

  • Complaint

  • Violation

  • Tenant Space

The steps to create an inspection are very similar for all types of records, however, permit inspections have a few additional features, discussed here.

To add an inspection, go to the Inspections tab for the type of record that requires an inspection. Click the Plus button to create a new inspection.

This opens a New Inspection window. Add the inspection information to the General Info tab. There are two required data fields: Task Performed and Inspector.

The Task Performed data field is populated from a dropdown list. Additional inspection tasks can be added to the dropdown from the inspection tasks. See this article for details.

The Inspector data field is populated from a dropdown list. Additional inspectors can be added to the dropdown from the Employees Info list, as described in this article.

There are three date/time fields, and all are optional. Many users only use the Inspection Date field. This is the data field that is used to create the inspection schedule. If desired, all date/time fields can be used to capture more complete inspection data, as follows:

  • Request Date/Time - The date/time that an inspection request was received by the municipality.

  • Ready Date/Time - The date/time that the item will be ready for the requested inspection.

  • Inspection Date/Time - The scheduled date/time that the project will be inspected.

When done, click Save.
