PCSM Types and Their Automatic Inspection Components

When you inspect a PCSM BMP saved in the CSDatum Map using the "Generic" inspection template (see screenshot below), the inspection form will automatically have one or more inspection components added, based on the BMP type.

The inspection components that are automatically added are noted below for each BMP type.

The user can always add additional components to the inspection to capture items that are specific to that BMP.

Bioretention - Raingarden (A/B soils w/o underdrain)

Automatic inspection components:

  • Pruning and Weeding

  • Perennial Plant Cutting

  • Mulch and Erosion

  • Accumulation of Sediment?

  • Supplemental Watering Needed?

  • Tree and Shrub Health

Bioretention - Raingarden (A/B soils w/ underdrain)

Automatic inspection components:

  • Pruning and Weeding

  • Perennial Plant Cutting

  • Mulch and Erosion

  • Accumulation of Sediment?

Bioretention - Raingarden (C/D soils w/ underdrain)

Bioswale

Automatic inspection components:

  • Surface Vegetation Maintained?

  • Uniformity in Cross Section?

  • Swale Inlet and Outlet

Dry Detention Basin

Automatic inspection components:

  • Vegetation

  • Erosion

  • Basin Bottom

  • Bank Stability

  • Spillway

  • Inlet and Outlet Conditions

  • Sediment and Debris Accumulation

  • Invasive or Unwanted Growth?

Dry Extended Detention Basin

Automatic inspection components:

  • Vegetation

  • Erosion

  • Basin Bottom

  • Bank Stability

  • Spillway

  • Inlet and Outlet Conditions

  • Sediment and Debris Accumulation

  • Invasive or Unwanted Growth?

Filter Strip Runoff Reduction

Automatic inspection components:

  • Accumulation of Sediment?

  • Density of Vegetation

  • Excessive Compaction by Mowers or Vehicles?

  • Drain-down Time in 72 Hours?

  • Check Dams

  • Inlets or Sediment Sumps

  • Invasive or Unwanted Growth?

Filter Strip Stormwater Treatment

Automatic inspection components:

  • Accumulation of Sediment?

  • Density of Vegetation

  • Excessive Compaction by Mowers or Vehicles?

  • Drain-down Time in 72 Hours?
