The real estate tax assessment agency in each county keeps a detailed record of properties within the county. This data is used to issue tax bills as well as for other purposes. This data is provided to the public in a GIS data format that includes the property lines, property address, and deed owner name and address

About four times a year, the CSDatum staff upload an updated file of GIS property data to the software. This GIS property data is generally no more than four months old, and it provides a way to check property ownership from within the software.

To access this data, start from any property record. Within the Edit Property window, go to the Property Info tab. Within the Deed Owner section, click Down Arrow > Compare to County Data.

This will open a modal window that shows a comparison of ownership data. The data from Permit Manager is on the left. The county GIS property data is on the right. Any mismatch between the data is shown with a red outline. Be careful because the mismatch checker is sensitive to any difference in spelling or punctuation.

Even if there is a mismatch of the data, you may not need to change the data in Permit Manager. There could be a good reason why the Permit Manager data is not an exact match.

When done reviewing the data comparison, close the modal window using the X in the upper right-hand corner or by clicking outside of the window.
