Adding new properties and/or subdivisions will keep Permit Manager up-to-date. The instructions below describe how to simply add a new property or subdivision. There is another article that gets into the details of how to handle updating properties and moving permits after subdivisions and lot combinations.

Add a New Property

Properties not yet created in Permit Manager can be added in one of two ways:

Option 1 - From the Dashboard

On the Dashboard window, go to Dashboard > Create a Record > Property > Create

Option 2 - From the Properties Window

Use the plus button on the Properties window by going to Property > Property List > Plus Button

Either method will open a New Property window. In that window, begin entering data about the property. Required data fields are Subdivision and Deed Owner, located on the Property Info tab. Other fields are optional.

Set the Deed Owner using Down Arrow > Pick New Deed Owner. Refer to this article for detailed information about setting and changing the deed owner of a property.

Parcel ID is an optional data field, however, a Parcel ID is required for the property data to link with a parcel on the Property Map. It is important to get the Parcel ID correct to create the linkage. Double and triple check it!

After entering all necessary data, click Save.

Add a Subdivision

The names of all subdivisions are stored in a list that can be edited. To add a new subdivision to the list, click Edit > Subdivision List.

This opens the Subdivision List window. Click the Plus button to add the new subdivision.

Enter the subdivision same, and click Save.
