Inspection reminders are a quick way to add the next inspection in a series of inspections. A typical example for Building Permits is a Rough Electrical inspection that will be followed by a Final Electrical inspection. Another example is the inspection of a rental unit every 3 years.

To set up these inspection reminders, go to Edit > Inspection Reminders.

To create a new reminder, click the Plus button.

This will open the Inspection Reminder modal window. First, select the Inspection Type. This will be a specific permit type or Property, Violation, etc.

In the screenshot below, the reminder is for a Building Permit. Select the Previous Task and the Reminder Task from the dropdowns. The dropdowns are populated by the Inspection Tasks that have already been created. If you need to create additional Inspection Tasks, see Inspection Tasks.

Finally, choose the default number of days between the two inspections. You are not locked into this number of days, and the date can be edited when you are creating the inspection reminder.

When done, click Save.

The article Schedule a Subsequent Inspection Reminder describes how to use this feature to create the next inspection.
