Permit Manager maintains a list of people and companies that can be associated with a plan, permit, violation, or other record. These people and companies are collectively called Contacts. This list of contacts can be added to or edited from many different places within Permit Manger.
All Contacts
The primary location to view all contacts is from Contacts > All Contacts by Type.
This opens the Contacts window. Use the Magnifying Glass button to filter the list of contacts. Double click any contact to view the full name, address, phone number, and email.
Contact Types
Every contact is given a Contact Type when added to the list. The Contact Type is typically assigned by Permit Manger based on the area of the application that you're working in. However, if the contact is added from the main Contacts window shown above, you'll be asked to select the contact type. The various contact types and their definitions are listed and described below.
Agent - A person authorized to act on behalf of another person. Select "agent" if the contact doesn't fit into any of the other categories, and has the legal ability to perform some act related to a permit or plan.
Applicant - The person or business that submits the permit or plan.
Architect/Engineer - The design professional that helped prepare the permit or plan.
Attorney - The attorney representing the applicant or property owner for the permit or plan.
Contractor - The contractor or builder responsible for the physical work associated with the permit or plan.
Developer - The person or company that is developing or redeveloping a property.
Inspector - A person providing inspection services for a project. This is not the inspector that is working for the municipality to perform required inspections. Municipal inspectors are added as part of the Municipality Setup as described in this article.
Insurance Agent - The person or company providing insurance coverage for a project.
Other - Any other contact type.
Owner - The person or company that owns a property.
Sign Owner - The person or company that owns a sign that is placed on property owned by a different person or company.
Tenant - A person or company that rents or leases an apartment or business suite.
