The CSDatum Map only displays the menu items for layers and asset types that you're using. If you'd like to start mapping a new type of data in the Map, you can add that data type with the Add Layer button in the map menu.

After pressing Add Layer, the program shows all the layers that could be added to the map. Click on a layer to add it.

Then, click on the specific asset type to add it and begin mapping.

Clicking on the asset type opens the editing mode to add a specific asset to the map.

Each asset is recorded on the map as a point, line, or polygon.

Points are added with one click on the map.

Begin a Line features with one click at the start point, one click at each change of direction, and a double click at the end.

Polygons are closed shapes. Begin a polygon with one click on the map. Click at the location of each change in direction, and double click at the end to complete the polygon.
