On a mobile device, the device's built-in GPS can help place new assets on the map.

Begin by tapping the Up Arrow button to open the sliding menu.

Then choose the the appropriate Layer. In the example screenshots below, we'll add a new sanitary manhole, so we tap on the Sanitary button.

Next, choose the Asset Type. Below, we've tapped the Manhole button. This opens the Manhole menu. To map a new manhole, tap the Plus button in the Manhole menu.

This activates the editing mode, allowing you to tap on the map to place the asset in the appropriate location.

To use the device's GPS capabilities instead of tapping on the map, tap the Location Arrow button in the menu. The screen will show the GPS location as a blue pin. There is a circle around the pin showing the relative accuracy of the GPS position. At the bottom of the screen is a button to add a point at the GPS location. This button also displays, in feet, the relative accuracy of the GPS location. In the screenshot below, the GPS location is accurate to within +/- 16 feet. Tap the button to add a point.

After the asset has been placed on the map, the Asset Info Screen appears. Expand each section by tapping on it, and add the appropriate data. Tap Save, and then Close when done.
