To create a new Custom Print Template, Go to Print > Custom Print Templates

This opens the Custom Print Templates window. Click the Plus button to create a new template.

This will open a New Custom Print Template window. Start within the General Info tab.

Name

Choose a name for the template that indicates the type of record it is used for and any other information that identifies its use.

Examples may include:

  • Zoning Violation Warning Letter

  • Property Maintenance - Official NOV

  • Building Permit Printout

  • Driveway Certificate of Completion

Record Type

A custom print template can only be used for a specific type of record, for example, permits, properties, violations, etc. Set the Record Type using the dropdown list.

If the record type is set to Permit, select if the template is available for all permits or just one or more specific permit types. Multiple permit types can be selected by placing a checkmark by each, as shown in the screenshot below.

Page Format

The template can be set to be only a single page or it can be "Expandable" to accommodate one or more pages. The single-page option is useful for a printout that you don't want to ever be more than one page, such as a permit job card.

When the settings are complete, click Save.

Template Design

After saving the template, you can begin to create the design in the Design tab of the Edit Custom Print Template window. This article explains the design process in detail.
