CSDatum Map data can be exported for use in other programs, primarily spreadsheet programs, like Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, or GIS programs like ArcGIS or QGIS.
Exporting for use in a spreadsheet program will only export the data associated with the asset. It does not include the geographic location of the asset.
Exporting for use in a GIS program includes all data associated with the asset, including the geographic location (latitude and longitude).
Export Spreadsheet Data
Begin from the main ≡ Menu button in the upper left corner. Then click Tables.
After clicking the Tables button, a secondary menu displays showing all the available layers.
Click on one of the layers, such as Stormwater System, to open a submenu of asset types. Click an asset, such as Manhole, to open the table of data.
Once the table opens, the visible data can be exported from the menu in the upper right corner. Go to More > Export > Csv or More > Export > Excel. The Csv option exports a .csv file, while the Excel option exports a .xlsx file. Both file types can be opened with Excel or Google Sheets.
Export GIS Data
To export all data in the database, including the geographic location (latitude and longitude) of the assets, use the Export to CSV in the Tables submenu.
Begin from the main ≡ Menu button in the upper left corner. Then click Tables.
Click on one of the layers, such as Stormwater System, to open a submenu of asset types. Click the Down Arrow button on an asset to show additional options. Click Export to CSV to export all the data to a .csv file.
While this file can be opened with a spreadsheet program, more importantly, it can be opened with a GIS program. When opened with a GIS program, you will likely have to specify the Coordinate Reference System (CRS) to properly display the map data. Be sure to specify WGS84 (EPSG 4326).
