Hello CSDatum Users!
It's been a few months since I've written one of these updates. Despite my silence, we haven't been just sitting on our hands here in CSDatum-land. In fact, our code developers have been quite busy writing code and releasing new features whenever they are complete.
Many of the updates they create are minor improvements. However, several of them are worth mentioning, just in case they hadn't yet come to your attention. I'll tick through four noteworthy updates below.
Updates to Permits
Custom Print Templates
On the Permits side of the house, we continue to improve the the Custom Print Templates feature that we first released in October 2023. One notable update is that you now have the ability to jump-start your efforts to create a new Custom Print Template by duplicating an existing template. Within the Custom Print Templates window, click on a template that you want to duplicate. Then, click Down Arrow > Duplicate Template.
Window Names
Previously, if you had multiple windows open, each with a different property or permit, it could be difficult to tell which was which. The window names were all very generic. To help eliminate confusion, we customized the window names to display the property address, permit number and type, or other identifying information.
Updates to Maps
Pipe Lining
Pipe lining is becoming more commonplace as a cost effective method to rehabilitate pipes without disruptive trenching and excavation. To accommodate this change, we added a Lining data field to all pipes. The dropdown list is populated with the most common pipe-lining methods.
Delete Individual Measurements
The map's measure tool can be quite handy for quick measurements. Each measurement is saved on the map so that it can be referred to multiple times. Previously, the measurements could only be cleared all at once. We added the ability to clear individual measurements to make it easier to delete errors or unneeded data.
Most of our updates start as a request from one of our users, so keep your ideas coming. We love to hear about software improvements that would make your job easier or improve your experience.
Thank you!
