This is exciting news...

We've been working on a new feature for awhile now. It's called Custom Print Templates, and it's probably one of our biggest code-writing adventures since the launch of Cloud Permit Manager over 5 years ago.

The initial intent of this feature was to let users create a letter template that can be automatically filled in with appropriate data from the Permits database. This would enable users to quickly create violation letters, expiring permit letters, and other typical letter-type printouts and mailings.

As we started developing this feature, we quickly realized that the usefulness of print templates doesn't end with letters. Templates can also be used to create customized printouts for permits, job cards, and certificates. They can create checklists and printouts of notes and conditions for permit applicants. I'm sure there are quite a few other uses for the templates that we haven't thought of yet. That's why we have to get this feature out there in the wild and let you fine folks help it to evolve.

So... we now entrust you with the Custom Print Templates! Help them to become what they are fully meant to be!

To get you started with the Custom Print Templates, there's a full suite of help articles covering how to create the templates and then apply them to create a printout. Check those articles out.

If you have an existing letter and you'd like our help getting it set up as a template, send the letter our way. We'll copy-and-paste it into a template for your use.

If you have other questions about what to use the Custom Print Templates for, let us know and we can brainstorm some ideas with you.

As always, if you start creating a template and need some help along the way, drop us a line. We're always ready to assist.
