Just a few days ago I told you about how we're into continuous improvement of the software by making small changes on a regular basis. Then, I told you about two new features on the CSDatum Maps side of the house.

Well, lest you think we were neglecting the permitty stuff on the other side of the house, we're not! Below are two small but mighty improvements in Permit Manager to keep pushing us forward there, too.

New "Open in CSDatum Maps" Feature

Permit Manager has a built in Map that is often used to locate a property and show the basic land use context around that property. However, if you want to do a more detailed analysis of the land use and public works assets in the area of a property, that's better done in the CSDatum Map.

Unfortunately, jumping over to the CSDatum Map always involved a multi-step process of opening a new tab, navigating to the CSDatum Map, finding the parcel of interest, zooming in, etc. To help with that transition between Permit Manager and CSDatum Maps, we created a new Open in CSDatum Maps button.

Now, when you're using the Permit Manager Map and want to transition to the CSDatum Map, click the Gear Icon > Open in CSDatum Maps. This will automatically open a new browser tab and zoom in to the appropriate location on the map. You're now ready to turn on any Assets or Overlays that you're interested in viewing as part of your research and analysis.

Give the new Open in CSDatum Maps feature a try, and let us know what you think. Your thoughts and feedback are invaluable for the continued improvement of the software.

Recent Permit Activity

Here's a fun little update. The section of the Dashboard page that used to be called Recently Created Permits has been changed, and now you can switch between Recently Created and Recently Issued. Try it out, and let us know if that's a helpful change for you!
