Changes to Deed Owner Menu

We made a modification to the buttons related to changing the deed owner of a property and viewing the deed owner's contact record.

On a Property record, within the Deed Owner section, you'll now see a Dropdown Arrow and an Expand link.

If you just want to see the full address and contact information for the current deed owner, click the Expand link. Click Collapse close the expanded information.

Clicking the Dropdown Arrow, opens a small menu. Use Pick New Deed Owner if the property was recently transferred to a new owner, and you want to change the property's ownership.

You can also open the full contact record for the current deed owner using Open Contact Record.

If you open the contact record, only make minor edits to correct misspellings or add new phone/email info. Do not make wholesale changes to the contact record. This will affect all properties owned by this contact.

Compare Deed Owner to County Data

There is now a new way to help confirm the current owner of a property from within Permit Manager. This method utilizes the GIS parcel data that we obtain from the county government. We upload a new set of GIS parcel data four times a year, so the data should generally be no more than three months old.

Within the Deed Owner section, click Down Arrow > Compare to County Data.

This will open a modal window that shows a comparison of ownership data. The data in Permit Manager is on the left. The county GIS parcel data is on the right. Any mismatch between the data is shown with a red outline. Be careful because the mismatch checker is sensitive to any difference, no matter how minor. There could be a good reason why the Permit Manager data is not an exact match.

Please give this new feature a try and let us know what you think. We're always happy for your feedback.
