There are multiple ways to search for a specific asset, both on the map and within the table view.
Search for an Asset on the Map
Search for individual assets, or groups of similar assets using the asset search box. The search results are shown below the search box, and the map filters down to only show the search results. The search can be performed several ways, as described in the sections below.
Search for an Asset by Name
Search for individual assets using the asset search box, which appears within the Asset Type Menu. By default, the search tool searches for a matching asset name. For example, the screenshot below shows a search for "dry run" within the BMP Asset Type of the Stormwater Layer. The search results are shown below the search box. A BMP with the name of "Dry Run Road Basin BMP" was found.
If a search returns more than one result, click any one result to move the map to that asset.
To search within data fields other than the asset's name, use one of the techniques described in the following sections.
Search for an Asset by a Text Field
Type the at symbol (@) within the search box and then click on a text-based data field to search within.
Next, type the search term after the data field. In the following screenshot, the search is for the term "municipal" within the Owned By data field. The search produced 4 results. Click any result to move the map to that asset.
Search for an Asset by a Numerical Field
Type the equal sign, greater than, or less than symbol ( = > < ) into the search box and then click on a numerical data field to search within.
Next, type the search term. In the following screenshot, the search is for years prior to (less than) 2010 within the Date Installed/Implemented data field. The search produced 4 results. Click any result to move the map to that asset.
Search for an Asset Using Multiple Fields
Multiple fields can be searched at the same time by combining the search features described above. In the screenshot below, a search for BMPs modified prior to 2023 with the term "municipal" in the Owned By field produced 4 results.
Search for an Asset in the Table
Search for an Asset Using a Global Search
The main search box in the Table view is accessed using the Search button in the upper right hand corner.
This search box performs a global search of all data fields for the entered search term. In the screenshot example below, the system searched all data fields for the term "dry."
Search for an Asset Using Data Fields
Individual data fields have a search box that can be used alone or in conjunction with the other search boxes. In the example screenshot below, the search term "dry" was applied only to the Name/ID column.
