NOTE: The instructions below are for a standard printout. If you have a custom permit printout, see the article on how to Print a Custom Print Template.

A printed permit and printed job card are often given to an applicant when the permit is paid for and officially issued. The printouts for the permit and job card show similar information, but the job card is formatted with larger text so that it can be posted in a window or on a notice board at a job site.

Print Permit

To print a permit, begin from the permit itself, in the Edit Permit window. Click Gear > Print Permit.

Several options are available when printing a permit.

The first option is to choose the appropriate Permit Footer Message to apply to the permit. Footer messages can be edited or new ones created as described here. Choose the appropriate footer message from the drop down menu in the Report Options dialog box.

Next, using the drop down list, choose the official that will issue the permit. If you need to add or change Department Officials in the drop down list, this article describes how.

To apply the official's electronic signature, use the Include Signature? checkbox. This article describes how to set up signatures.

Several optional check boxes are pre-checked by default, as shown in the screenshot below. Update any of the checkboxes as needed, and click Done.

The permit generates and is displayed in a Print Permit window. To change the document's zoom level, click the Magnifying Glass button. To change permit printing options, click the Pencil button. To save a PDF of the printed permit to the permit's Documents tab, click the Floppy Disk button. To print the permit, click the PDF Document button, which opens the document in a PDF viewer for printing.
